A few ground rules
- Be specific. "Is Gràcia noisy at night?" gets better answers than "where should I live?"
- Say which city you are in. Mention EU or non-EU if the paperwork path matters.
- On Discord, search before you post. Your question may already have an answer.
- No spam, cold pitches, or "DM me for visa help" services.
- We are not lawyers. Check anything legal or tax-related with an official source.
- Help people on day one. You were there recently too.
Common questions
- Which group should I join?
If you already know your city, start with that city's WhatsApp. That is where flat hunts, SIM cards, and "is this agency legit?" questions get answered fastest. If you are still choosing a city, or want threads you can search later, try the general Settli WhatsApp or Discord.
- Is it free?
Yes. All groups are free. Settli is run by expats who wanted this when we landed.
- How is this different from the app?
Settli has the checklist, how-tos, and comparisons. The groups cover what changes week to week: appointment slots, neighbourhood gossip, and tips from people who just did it.
- Something feels off in a group
Email us at hello@settliapp.com. We remove spam when we see it, but we are a small team. Muting and moving on is often the fastest fix.
App bug or outdated guide? Contact support. The groups are for peer help, not Settli account issues.
